Momme is the unit used to measure the weight of silk. The higher the Momme, the heavier the silk. We believe that the ultimate weight for silk pillowcases is 22 momme, with its medium weight proving to be durable, draping beautifully and maintaining its soft feel.
Our Turbans, Bonnets and scrub caps are all made of double layer 19 momme silk so that they feel lightweight when you’re wearing them. We wanted our hair products to stay smooth on both the inside and out. There is no matte or dull side on our hair accessories, just pure luxurious silk all around.
Yes, absolutely we do! We’re great believers in health and would not entertain the thought of choosing cheaper, lower quality options when it comes to any of stage of making our silk. We’ve met with our suppliers on a number of occasions and work closely with them to ensure our products meet stringent international standards.
Silk is a natural fibre, it breathes and regulates temperature and repels dust mites and bacteria. Synthetic satin is made from petroleum into polyester which is essentially plastic. It doesn’t breath, which is why it is hot and sticky to sleep on.
• Fill basin/sink with luke warm water (30°C)
• Add a small amount of gentle liquid detergent
• Soak for 3 minutes
• Rinse with cold water and a splash ofdistilled vinegar
• Set machine to cold wash settings (30°C)
• Use detergent designed for delicate fabrics
• Place silk inside a laundry bag
• Wash with similar colours to avoid colour run
• Place flat on a towel and softly roll extract water
• Line dry out of direct sunlight
• Cool Iron
