Can I machine wash silk?
Hand washing is best. If you choose to machine wash, use a delicate cycle, cold water, a gentle detergent, and place your silk item inside a laundry bag. Please note that machine washing may shorten the life of your silk.
How often should I wash my silk bonnet, turban, or pillowcase?
This depends on your routine and how much product you use in your hair or skincare. As a general guide, wash silk items that touch your hair or skin regularly to keep them fresh, clean, and beautiful.
Will silk shrink or lose its shine?
Silk is a delicate natural fibre, so it needs gentle care. Heat, harsh detergents, bleach, and tumble drying can affect the finish. With proper care, your silk pieces can stay beautiful for a long time.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Europe.
Are silk scrub caps suitable for healthcare workers?
Yes. Our silk scrub caps are designed for comfort, hair protection, and everyday wear. Many healthcare workers love them because the silk lining helps reduce friction while keeping hair covered during long shifts.
Can silk help with hair loss, alopecia, or chemotherapy related hair changes?
Many customers use our silk pieces during hair loss, alopecia, chemotherapy, and regrowth because silk feels gentle and reduces friction against delicate hair and skin. While silk is not a medical treatment, it can be a comforting and protective fabric choice.
Can I use silk with hair treatments or oils?
Yes, but we recommend allowing oils, masks, or leave-in products to absorb before wearing your silk item. Heavy products may mark the silk, so please wash with care if this happens.
How do I wash my silk accessories?
Hand wash in cool water with a gentle silk-safe detergent. Do not bleach, soak for long periods, tumble dry, or wring. Gently press out excess water with a towel and air dry flat or hang in the shade.
Who are silk bonnets and turbans best for?
Our silk bonnets and turbans are loved by customers with curls, waves, textured hair, fine hair, dry hair, extensions, protective styles, and anyone wanting to reduce friction while resting or going about their routine.
What size turban should I choose?
Our Small size is best for petite to average head sizes or lower volume hair. Large is best for average to larger head sizes or medium volume hair. Extra Large is ideal if you prefer more coverage, have thicker hair, longer hair, braids, curls, or protective styles.
What size bonnet should I choose?
Choose your bonnet size based on how much hair you want to comfortably tuck inside. If you have longer, thicker, curly, braided, or protective styles, we recommend sizing up for extra room and comfort.
What is Grade 6A mulberry silk?
Grade 6A is the highest grade of mulberry silk, known for its long fibres, beautiful finish, and luxurious feel. Mulberry silk comes from silkworms that feed on mulberry leaves, creating a smooth, fine silk that is ideal for hair, skin, and everyday wear.
Are BlissSilk products made from real silk?
Yes. BlissSilk products are made from 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk. We do not use polyester satin or synthetic silk substitutes.
What is the difference between silk and satin?
Silk is a natural fibre, while satin is a type of weave that can be made from many materials, including polyester. Many products labelled “satin” are actually synthetic. BlissSilk uses pure mulberry silk for its natural feel, breathability, and smooth surface.
Will silk really help my hair?
Silk can help reduce friction, which is one of the causes of frizz, tangles, breakage, and split ends. Its smooth surface allows your hair to glide more gently, making it especially helpful for curls, textured hair, delicate hair, and protective styles.
Is silk good for skin?
Silk is gentle against the skin and can help reduce friction while you rest. Many customers love silk because it feels smooth, breathable, and less absorbent than some other fabrics, helping your skincare stay where you applied it.
